Memebox Free From Oil & Troubles Review

If you don't know what Memebox is it's basically a beauty box subscription based out of Korea. It started in Korea and has recently launched in the US. Here's 4 reasons why I love Memebox:
  1. It's a beauty box service, but you don't have to subscribe and pay monthly like you do with other companies. You can choose the boxes you want when you want!
  2. Holy, full size products, Batman! SO many full size products.
  3. Reasonable pricing. Heck, it's better than reasonable! The Free From Oil & Troubles box was only $23. The Ciracle Cream alone costs $39 on Amazon so $23 for everything pictured is actually robbery.
  4. Korean skincare products are like light years ahead of US skincare products. Take BB Cream for example, Koreans started that ages ago! Plus, have you ever seen a Korean woman's skin? It's always beautiful perfection.
Here we have the Free From Oil & Troubles Memebox. It's no longer available (you might be able to buy these individual products from the Memebox Memeshop), but they're releasing another Free From Oil & Trouble Box, and this new box is a Superbox! The Superbox was inspired by Memebox lovers, looking for full-sized products. I'll say it again...holy, full size products, Batman!
Memebox could not have sent me a better box at a better time. For some reason I get really oily skin in the summer and I've never had an oily skin skincare routine because nothing worked for me. I've been using the Cosrx Cleansing Bar, Dr. Young U-Line Clearing Mist, and the Ciracle Red Spot Cream everyday since I got this box and I finally feel like I don't have crazy oily skin anymore.

Memebox Hair and Body

Hey everyone, here's a review and a little 2 product giveaway (giveaway details are the end of this post) brought to you by Memebox! It's the Hair & Body Box! The Hair & Body Memebox is one of their first special boxes, which includes items under special themes. It is designed to introduce unique hair and body products from Korean cosmetic brands. If you don't know what Memebox is it's a Korean Beauty Box provider. It's really great because it's like a monthly subscription box without the subscription. You chose the boxes you want and it doesn't have to be every month. Another bonus to Memebox is that they include mostly full size products unlike other subscriptions where you're paying for teeny tiny samples. This box costs only $23 while the retail value is almost $150.

I haven't properly used these yet, only got a chance to swatch them for now, but my first impression of these colored pencils is "WOW!" They're extremely pigmented and are very vibrant. My faves are complimentary to some my favorite OCC Lip Tar shades...like Anime, NSFW, Grandma, Hoochie and Black Dahlia. I'm most excited to use the clear one because I've been wanting to try a clear lip liner for ages and just never get around to buying one. The only thing I don't like about these is there aren't enough shades, I can't wait for OCC to release more!

These will be available February 1st online at occmakeup.com & sephora.com and in stores February18th.

Favorite Products for Fall 2013

  1. Smashbox Limitless Cream Shadow in Gemstone The shade is described as soft iridescent grey mauve. My mom bought this for me after I saw her wearing it and could not get over how pretty her eyes looked. It really lasts a long time and it stays put, doesn’t crease like other cream shadows.
  2. Tokyo Milk Dark Lip Elixir #60 Coco Noir You all already know I love these lip balms. The flavor notes in this are: dark rum, maraschino cherry, sweet milk, and cacao bean. They’re obviously super unique and smell amazing and Coco Noir is no exception.
  3. MAC Eyeshadow in Blackberry It’s a matte shade described as muted burgundy-plum brown. It’s beautiful and perfect for a smokey eye. And since it’s plummy it looks great on any eye color.
  4. Beautique Eyeliner in Light Brown I got this a while ago at Sally Beauty Supply and never used it ‘til last month when I colored my hair ginger red. My holy grail eyebrow product Benefit Brow Zings didn’t match anymore and I was very sad, but this pencil matched perfectly. It’s an alright replacement, but nothing will ever match up to Brow Zings.
  5. Cabana Boy Blush by TheBalm Don’t let the name fool you, it’s summery and beachy sounding, but it’s perfect for fall. It’s a dusty rose with plum undertones.
  6. Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara I needed a new mascara and didn’t really have the money to replace my old favorite, Buxom Amplified Lash Mascara, so I got this one and I like it even better! It’s a great formula and the bottom lash wand is amazing. It’s great for someone like me who has trouble with applying mascara to the bottom lashes.
  7. Elf Matte Lip Color in Rich Red Not much to say about this one. It’s a lovely matte red. It’s classic and great paired with winged liner.
  8. Purely Pro Cosmetics’ Lip Gloss in Venom It’s a dark purple red shade. I keep it in my purse for a quick vampy lip and it smells really good.
  9. Bare Minerals’ Pretty Amazing Lip Color in Confidence The shade is described as pink berry. I’ve been raving about these Pretty Amazing Lip Colors since I first tried them like 3 years ago. They’re very hydrating, shiny and have great color payoff.
  10. NYX Eyeshadow in Sahara It’s described as shimmery champagne gold. It’s a great highlight color and I pair it with MAC’s Blackberry.
  11. OPI’s Kennebunk-Port It’s a pretty red shade. A tad darker and creamier than your regular reds which makes it great for fall.
  12. OCC Lip Tar in the shade Anita It’s described as browned burgundy. It’s a tough color to wear, but I’m obsessed and TBH, it makes me feel like a bad bitch.

Back to School Beauty

1. Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette
image
I love this palette, I use it daily and I'm already on my second one! I think everyone should own it whether you're going back to school or not. This palette is a great selection of neutral taupes and greiges, ranging from light to dark, matte to extra sparkly. It's perfect for fall and you'll get so many compliments that it will start getting embarrassing how good your eyes look. It also comes with a double-sided brush and Lip Junkie Lip Gloss in the shade Naked (not pictured).

  • Foxy is a matte, pale, yellowed nude. I use this on brow bone exclusively.
  • Half Baked is a shimmery rich gold. I love to use this all over the lid or just in the inner corner for a hint of gold sparkle.
  • Booty Call is a frosty white beige with the slightest hint of pink. I use this on brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye.
  • Chopper is a very sparkly copper. It has chunky glitter so there tends to be fall-out. Great on the lid or crease.
  • Tease is a matte mauve color. It's my personal favorite and I use it on the lid and crease. It's especially nice paired with Busted.
  • Snakebite is a shimmery, dark brownish bronze. I use this almost exclusively in the crease and the outer corner of my eyes.
  • Suspect is a frosty soft champagne shade. Love using this on my lid.
  • Pistol is a frosty gray-brown. Depending on how the light hits it it's sometimes more gray than brown and vice versa. This color is probably my least favorite but when I do use it I use it on the outer corners of my eyes.
  • Verve is frosty pinky beige. I use this on my lid, the inner corners of my eyes and on the brow bone with Booty Call.
  • YDK is a shimmery medium bronze. I like using this in the crease.
  • Busted is an almost matte plum tinted, brown. I use this in the crease mainly.
  • Blackout is an intense matte black. I use this wet as a liner and smudge it out. Also it can be use in the crease, but use it very sparingly.
My favorite shades are Half Baked, Booty Call, Tease and Busted and some of my favorite combos include:
  1. Booty Call(brow bone) + Half Baked(lid)
  2. Foxy(brow bone)+ Suspect(lid)+ Snake Bite(crease)
  3. YDK(brow bone) + Tease(lid) + Busted(crease)
  4. Verve(brow bone) + Pistol(lid)
  5. Foxy(brow bone) + Chopper(lid) + Blackout(crease)
You can use these combos as guidelines, or get creative and create your own combinations. With shades like these you really can't go wrong because they're all so gorgeous!
2. E.l.f. Mineral Booster in Shimmer
image
This is a loose, very lightweight, shimmery all-over powder. This product is for the days when you wake up feeling like/looking like death and it's still dark outside, but you have to be at school in an hour. Yeah, this powder will instantly brighten your face and while you may still feel like death you won't look like it anymore. As you can see it's a yellowy powder, but once it's blended in it doesn't look yellow, it just gives you that little hint of flawless highlight and it's pretty good for oil control if you need it. I like to use this on my cheeks mostly and sometimes I'll use it as eyeshadow to brighten up my eyes if I don't feel like doing a full eyeshadow look.
3. TokyoMilk Dark Lip Elixirs in Salted Caramel
image
This lip balm is really great for your lips. And it tastes and smells AMAZING! Guys will be lining up to kiss you on the lips (or smell them) when you wear this. I guarantee it. It tastes and smells just like caramels. I love everything in the Tokyo Milk Dark collection, because the scents are so unique but this lip balm sticks out the most for me. I also enjoy the Coco Noir flavor as well so I suggest that one also. And the best part is that they are only $7 which I feel like is a bargain.
